Yesterday, we decided to venture away from the old faithful cafes and restaurants near us and explore new scenery, coffe and cake around West Wales. FYI, when I say coffee I actually mean gin and wine.
The sat nav wasn’t much use in this case as it mostly got us lost around country roads and considering Lynsey’s driving is questionable at the best of times, I’m surprised we made it there (eventually).
The first place we spotted was a little cafe called ‘The Cegin’ in The Cawdor Hotel, Llandeilo. The menu was great for lunch as it had little bites, sandwiches and delicious looking cakes! We started with brunch here and then moved on.
The next place we perched was a small gin bar called The GinHaus. This place is almost wasted if you can’t sit and converse with friends for hours on end! It was jam packed on a Wednesday afternoon so we had to squeeze on a side table but that didn’t really matter as the atmosphere was so welcoming and relaxing. I can definitely see us returning to this spot on a sunny summers afternoon to work our way through the menu.
The final place we visited on our Welsh country adventure was a restaurant and bar called The Wrights, Food Emporium, Llanarthne. Considering we were all full from lunch, wine, gin and coffee by this point (minus the wine and gin for the driver of course) we could only share a dessert by this point! Again, totally wanting to return to this place for a cosy dinner with red wine. Now I just need to learn how to like red wine.
‘Till next time Cymru. You’re a dream.
