Nightwear as Daywear – How I Style My Pyjama Top

Nightwear as Daywear – How I Style My Pyjama Top

Styling the latest Fall trend my way – Nightwear as Daywear. Hello, silky pyjama tops. Where have you been all my life?

Trends come and go. That’s a certainty. For this reason, I’m always cautious not to jump on every single trend bandwagon that hits the high street.

There are some trends this year that everyone has raved about, and me, not so much. I’ve never been much of a slider fan as controversial as that sounds, not even the Ivy Park branded ones could tempt me. This may be the first time I’ve ever declined anything branded Beyonce, so this is a big deal for me.

Some of the trends that I loved this time around were the detached sleeve bardot style top, sporty luxe inspired outfits and the return of culottes. However, there is one trend that I am so excited for, mainly because it’s going to be so comfortable to wear; ‘nightwear as daywear’ – who doesn’t want to wear their pyjamas out?!

I searched for the perfect silk pyjama top that would be ideal to wear with jeans for more of a casual look, rather than smarter one. I wanted the top to be a darker shade so that it would be wearable in autumn and winter. I also wanted it to have a rich pattern so it didn’t look too pyjama-like.

I’d tried on many a’ pyjama-style top from the high-street but actually fell in love with one that I saw in Burberry. Yes, it was a lot more than what I wanted to spend on pajama-style top but in the end, I took the plunge. It was mine. No regrets.

Myself and Alex (@styleandmacaroni) did a little ‘Nightwear as Day’ wear style shoot. Pyjamas all ’round.

Love, Amy X
