I’ve decked my halls with boughs of holly (well not literally, but there is a Christmas tree) so come and take a sneak peek!
Merry Nearly Christmas!
Who doesn’t love having a sneak peek into someone else’s home? If you’re someone that can resist this, then good for you but man, I am most definitely not that person. I LOVE getting the opportunity to peek into someone else’s home life – I find it fascinating! So I thought I’d share with you a part of my living space seeing as the Christmas decks are up early and lots of you have been asking for more home details.
Firstly, I’m beyond flattered that people are taking an interest in my home because it’s something that we’ve worked very hard on over the last 8 months. We’ve tried our best to keep costs down so we’ve built a lot of the furniture ourselves and given many items well-deserved makeovers but I’ll list bought items where I can.
I’m sure the pictures will portray my taste more than my words can but to put it simply, I like the idea of bringing the outdoors, inside. I feel like plants offer a room a sense of life and spirit so you’ll see I have an abundance of leafiness in my living room – some fake (ok, lots fake) but some very real! I also like the idea of combining industrial and natural materials such as wood and steel and I firmly stick to a natural-dark colour palette. There’s no pink in my house, I’m afraid.
The build-up to Christmas is without a doubt my favourite time of year. My idea of heaven is decorating my living room, whilst listening to the Elvis Presley’s Classic Christmas album (leave me alone, it’s my fave) and drinking a bottle of prosecco to myself. This year was minus the booze, which was disappointing but still great, nonetheless. So seeing as my tree may look a little soberer than last year, here is my living space in all it’s Christmas glory.
