Two Game Changer Products: The Shortcut To Magnificent Hair

Two Game Changer Products: The Shortcut To Magnificent Hair

Wave goodbye to dry, coarse and unruly hair (*Boy, Bye).

Introducing two essential products that will help achieve healthy, smooth, damn-right beautiful hair.

Let the transformation begin.

Correct me if I’m wrong but hair matters. It just does. A good hair day can disguise a multitude of sins whether it be poorly applied makeup, last nights 1 am mojitos or the mother of all spots. Good hair is without a doubt a massive confidence booster, a secret weapon of fearlessness if you will.

Before I jump into product, I’d like to mention a UK based blogger that I follow for hair inspiration, Elisabeth, founder of www.elisabethtilatt.com. It was Elisabeth’s most recent hair posts that inspired me to write this blog post – she has the most effortlessly chic hair (paired with a beautiful wardrobe) and she always recommends quality hair products that actually work. I thought I’d follow suit.

Ok, first up..

Redken, One United Multi-Benefit Treatment Spray

Being that I just had a quick trim and nourishing treatment at Pastels, my hair stylist recommended that I use Redken One United to assist with hair maintenance. I took what I thought was a leave-in conditioner to the counter, realistically expecting that it would eventually live in the depths of my hair product draw. Well, it turns out that I need to take professional advice more often – this product has completely blown my mind and changed my hair for the better good. I’ve recently learnt that it’s a little more than a leave-in conditioner – it has 25 benefits that increases manageability, protection and over-all beauty of your hair. I’m convinced I achieve the same look and feel of a post olaplex treatment with just a few spritz of this product. I use it on towel-dried hair to help with the combing and detangling process but it can also be used on dry hair to freshen between washes, as a leave-in treatment or as a heat protector before and after styling.

If you’re someone who sheds a lot of hair in-between or during washes, I highly recommend you try this product to help restore thickness. I used to lose A LOT of hair when detangling knots during washes and this has significantly minimized hair loss for me. Overall my hair is more manageable, softer, and generally stronger. Redken One United is around 100 Dhs which is great value in my opinion. You can purchase online at through Basharacare or pick up it at any Pastels salon.

*Hair extension users will need to be mindful of spraying too close to the root – one of my micro rings has slipped an inch or two and I’m certain it’s due to this spray. My hair is just too silky (lol, as if there’s such a thing).

Summary:
  • Excellent multi-benefits
  • Increases manageability
  • Minimizes hair loss
  • Same look and feel of an olaplex treatment
  • Don’t spray too close to bonds, micro ring beads, tapes

Secondly,

Kerastraight, Ultimate Oil

I’ll jump straight to the point – this is a heavy duty hair oil. If you have fine, oily hair you may want to use sparingly. On the contrary, if you have dry, coarse hair like me, this product is essential to maintain smooth, frizz-free locks. The formula is made from nine specially chosen oils to target four vital areas; essential nourishment, repair, hydration and shine. I apply one pump of oil (two if I need some extra TLC) to damp hair before blow drying and I also apply a small amount to the ends of my hair daily to restore moisture. I’ve seen a huge improvement in the texture of my hair since using this product – my hair is so much smoother and more manageable when damp. I’ve also seen a noticeable different in split ends and shine. I purchased this product at Pastels salon, Jumeriah. Admittedly, it’s a little pricey for hair oil at 310 Dhs (approx £38) but the benefits are totally worth it in my opinion. If 310 Dhs. is a little too painful (I did struggle) I recommend L’oreals, Elvive Extraordinary Oil or good old Moroccan oil as a cheaper alternative.

Summary
  • Great for people with dry hair
  • Use sparingly if you have thin hair, or use weekly as a treatment
  • Excellent for hair extension users – will help with longevity of extensions

Just some additional deets to finish:

I last had my hair cut and treated at Pastels Salon Jumeirah – Jessica is an excellent stylist and Aloudres is a hair extension wizard.

My go-to brand for hair extensions is Beauty Works – I have the 180-200g of weft (sew in) in shade 1B.

I purchased both products at Pastels, Jumeirah and they were recommended by Jessica and Aloudres at Pastels.

Happy hair day, ladies! May they continue today, tomorrow and every other day after that.

Amy x
